
Auditions: The Glens Falls Symphony with Charles Peltz, Music Director, is a fully professional orchestra of highly trained musicians. All candidates who win a position via audition join the American Federation of Musicians, Local 506. The Glens Falls Symphony will hold auditions on June 7 & 8, 2025 in Glens Falls, NY.
The Glens Falls Symphony (GFS) is a fully professional regional orchestra in Northern New York. Auditions will take place for the following positions.

The Glens Falls Symphony currently performs five regular season subscription concerts during the season from October through May, plus a series of orchestral Children’s Concerts, family events at the Wood Theater in downtown Glens Falls, two outdoor free summer concerts for large audiences, and maintains a partnership with one of the country’s oldest continuously-operated chamber music series, the de Blasiis Chamber Music Series at Helen Froehlich Auditorium at the Hyde Collection. The annual service minimum (instrumentation dependent) is 22, although the orchestra regularly exceeds that number. Per service pay is currently $91.95/section, $101.14/assistant principal, and $110.34/principal, with additional compensation for travel, doubling, cartage for some instruments and some housing options for out-of-town players.
